Planet Dectection! using EDI

Jian Ge's group at University of Florida have used EDI to detect exoplanets.
They call their project an "Exoplanet Tracker".

May 2006

Recently they announced the discovery of a new planet around star HD 102195 using an EDI. The EDI allows use of a more light efficient spectrograph because it relaxes engineering requirements. Their high efficiency EDI allows them to detect a planet using a small diameter (0.9 m) telescope.
