Our latest journal article on stabilizing a dispersive spectrograph using moire fringes from a Michelson interferometer, accepted by J. Astr. Tele. Instr. Sys. June 2026. The technique is called crossfading, since it combines the heterodyned fringing signal with the ordinary nonfringing spectrum.

---- New paper on spectrograph stabilization using moire fringes

Our previous paper described how to perform crossfading on two separate delays. The new paper extends this same crossfading technique but uses the nonfringing spectrum in place on one of the two delays, so it combines a single delays fringes with the ordinary spectrum that is also present in the data.
